The Botswana Guides Association (BOGA) recently concluded its highly anticipated annual conference, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s Travel operator’s landscape. Over the course of two days, from November 17–18, 2023, at the prestigious Maun Lodge, the conference brought together key stakeholders, industry experts, and passionate travel operators under one roof. This year’s theme was “Upholding the Good Reputation of Botswana as a Tourism Destination.”
The primary focus of the conference was maintaining Botswana standards as the most preferred tourism destination while promoting sustainable tourism practices so as to preserve Botswana’s rich natural heritage. Attendees engaged in dynamic discussions, workshops, and presentations aimed at finding innovative strategies to strike a balance between tourism, community development, and environmental conservation.
Botswana has the richest and most diverse range of culture, natural and historical attractions, complemented by a warm tropical climate, warm people, great accommodations, and great food. Botswana and Southern Africa have a big market, especially that of wildlife-based tourism. As a result, BOGA aims to promote and be the best in this market by increasing service delivery.
