The 7th Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge has officially closed, marking the end of an exciting submission period filled with groundbreaking ideas from young African entrepreneurs. This year, an impressive 151 entries poured in from across the continent, showcasing the talent, creativity, and determination of Africa’s next generation of tourism leaders.
Now, all eyes are on the evaluation phase, which will take place in three rounds. Judges will first narrow down the entries to a top 20, who will then participate in an online boot camp. From there, the five finalists will be selected and notified by April 30, 2025. These finalists will have the opportunity to present their innovative ideas live at the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit, set to take place from June 24 to June 27, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The summit, hosted by Africa Tourism Partners (ATP) alongside UN Tourism, BDO, Kenya’s Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, TEAMS Africa, and the Kenya Tourism Board, promises to be a game-changer for young tourism entrepreneurs. It will be a space where industry leaders, young inventors, and creatives gather to exchange ideas, forge partnerships, and support Africa’s youth-led tourism future. An attendance invitation is also forwarded to young entrepreneurs from related fields such as fintech, digital marketing, and mobility.
Attendees can look forward to speed marketing sessions, one-on-one networking, career guidance clinics, masterclasses, and brand activation opportunities. Desktop exhibition spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
For young innovators and professionals in tourism, fintech, digital marketing, and mobility, this is an unmissable chance to connect, learn, and grow. Registrations are open at www.youthtourismsummit.com, with more details on the event program, speaker lineup, and the top five finalists to be announced on June 30, 2025.
