
South Africa and Ghana have signed an agreement for the mutual waiver of visas. The agreement takes effect from 1st November, 2023. Travellers may transit through, depart from and stay in the territory of both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) without recourse to work.
South Africa has been cutting down visa restrictions with African countries which previously required travellers to provide proof of sufficient funds and return flight tickets.
Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated ” Republic of Ghana and Republic of South Africa have entered into an Agreement on a visa waiver regime for holders of ordinary passport.
The two countries also seek to lift barriers that have been limiting trade.
